Will of Robert Hill Deceased
Record of the will of Robert Hill deceased filed August 29th, 1850.
I Robert Hill of the City of Richmond in the County of Wayne and State of Indiana being in a declining state of health. But of sound mind disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit first After my funeral expences and just debts are all paid I give and bequeath to my wife Rebecca Hill (if she shall survive me) One best Bedstead and Beding with a set of curtains and furniture therefor. One Mahogany Dining Table on Dite [?] Wash Stand one mantle block, one cherry candle stand one Arm Chair Six Cane bottom chairs one large looking glass, one best carpet, half dozen silver tea spoons marked with the initials of our names Also Twelve (12) hundred dollars in money which with the articles above enumerated are to be her own exclusively forever and at her disposal only. Also the proceeds interest or dividend of Twenty seven (27) shares of Bank stock in the Branch at Richmond of the State Bank of Indiana during the term of her natural life and after her decease the same to be equally divided or sold and the proceeds of such sale equally divided between all my children share and share alike in the way which may best suit them
Item. I give and bequeath to my son George Hill One hundred and thirty three and one third acres of land taken off the west side of the south west quarter of section no. twenty seven 27 in Township no. thirty seven (37) North in range four (4) East in Elkhart County Ind. Item. I give and bequeath the remaining part of the above described quarter section of land to my two sons Charles Hill and Robert Hill to be equally divided between them share and share alike which will make them all even and equal with my other children who have received their like portion before.
Item. I then direct that all my estate both real and personal which has not been otherwise disposed of be sold and the proceeds of the sale thereof be equally divided between all my children to wit William Hill, Benjamin Hill, Samuel Hill Elizabeth Shute Mary Parry Peninnah Shaw Charles Hill Robert Hill and George Hill all share and share alike.
And further I do authorize and empower my Executors to make and execute deeds of conveyance to the purchasers of all and every part of my real estate which they may sell by authority of this will which deeds shall be as binding against my heirs as if they themselves had made them
And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son in law William Parry and my stepson in law Benjamin Stratton to be sole executors of this my last Will and testament. Hereby revoking and annuling all former wills by me heretofor made and publishing and confirming this and none other to be my last Will and Testament
In testimony whereof I the said Robert Hill have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifth day of the fifth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight

I Robert Hill wishing to make some alterations in some of the provisions of the foregoing will make and publish this my codicil to the same
Item 1st. That portion of my will which gives to my sons George Hill Charles Hill & Robert Hill in portions therein specified the south west quarter of Section no. 27 in Township no. 37 North of Range 4 East in Elkhart County and State of Indiana. I hereby by cancel and revoke as the said land has been by me disposed of and the proceeds thereof applied to the benefit of my said sons herein names in such portions as I designed for them under my will aforesaid.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of 4th month A.D. 1849.
